Models and animal activists Shane and Sia Barbi are starring with Michael Blake in the documentary “The Petition,” which supports an end to horse slaughter.

Directed by Anne Novak and co-produced by Ken Wahl, all of the film’s profits will also go to helping horses in need, and the Barbi twins are eager to gather one million signatures on a petition to ban the killings.

The film is scheduled to premiere in April 2012.

Why Politico is Really Losing Traffic: Pictures (or lack thereof) of the Barbi Twins - Posted by Robbie Cooper

I read a great piece last week at Breitbart’s Big Journalism site reporting that — as their Liberal bias and agenda becomes more-and-more apparent to most readers — the Politico’s daily traffic is also starting to plummet (can you hear the tiny violins playing in the background?):

Twin Playboy Playmates: Obama Abandoned the Horses :   Barbi twins: Obama abandoned the horses – Patrick Gavin – POLITICO.com

By PATRICK GAVIN | 12/1/11 1:59 PM EST

Over the years, we’ve covered the efforts of former Playboy playmates Shane and Sia Barbi to put an end to the slaughter of horses in the United States. And, now that Congress has just lifted a ban that could result in a return to horse slaughter for meat after it had been outlawed for five years, the Barbi Twins are revamping their efforts.

The two blasted a release to their email list, headlined, “Twin Bunnies Campaign Against ‘Slaughter House Sue’ over Pet Horse Meat.”

“Profit over pet flesh is unethical!” the two declare. “Congress approved the Conference Committee report on spending bill H2112 for Thanksgiving, giving funding to USDA for horse meat inspections and lifted the 6 year slaughter ban. More than 70% of Americans don’t want slaughter houses here. While Obama was pardoning a turkey, he abandoned our horses.”

The twins are asking fans to get involving either by signing a petition, calling the White House (“Tell Obama to keep his promise to ban horse slaughter and pass H.R. 2966,” they write) or to call Wyoming Rep. Sue Wallis “who is pro horse slaughter and tell her that Americans don’t want to see PET horses as meat on our dinner tables.”

“We are using that 18th minute of fame to do something good,” Shane tells “Extra.”
The Barbi Twins are featured in the upcoming documentary “Skin Trade” from filmmaker Shannon Keith. “Skin Trade” premieres Feb. 25 and takes a look at the exploitation of animals for their fur. “It’s not fashionable and not pretty. It’s offensive,” Shane says about clothing made from animal fur.

One of  Twin BLF’s 10 Points and one we fight the most for is to stop experimentation on animals.  Vivisection is cruel and unnecessary.

More posts on this barbaric practice are to come.

For more information visit the National Anti-Vivisection Society for Advancing Science Without Harming Animals at NAVS.org,  the Primate Freedom Project at PrimateFreedom.com, and Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty at SHAC.net

To actively support a Vivisection Free World you can search for “cruelty free products” in your favorite search engine.  Also, boycott companies and countries that still practice animal cruelty or buy from those that do.

Redemption
Posted on April 13th, 2010 at 8:07 PM by Barbi Twins

A must read for anyone that cares about animals!

Redemption is the story of animal sheltering in the United States, a movement that was born of compassion and then lost its way. It is the story of the “No Kill” movement, which says we can and must stop the killing.

It is about heroes and villains, betrayal and redemption. And it is about a social movement as noble and just as those that have come before. But most of all, it is a story about believing in the community and trusting in the power of compassion.

A portion of all sales will be donated to the No Kill  Advocacy Center if you purchase the book at Amazon.com by clicking through the banner on the home page of our website : www.NathanWinograd.com

PLEASE  NOTE: This book is not  published by the No Kill Advocacy Center and the No Kill Advocacy Center is not responsible for its content.

DOG (CAT) MEAT?
Posted on April 12th, 2010 at 6:21 AM by Barbi Twins
Other countries have practices that do not meet with the standards of the United States nor their laws.  Eating dogs in Korea is common (along with cruel practices).  However in the U.S. it is  not common  therefore there are some States that have no laws specifically banning the eating of dogmeat, although this practice is illegal under other, more general, legislation.

Under California’s State Penal Code dogmeat is illegal,  however the practice of eating dog meat is wide-spread in both Los Angeles and Orange County. In Korean restaurants boshintang (dog meat) may be  served.  Cats are not left out of this “cuisine” as well.

Shown is Dogmeat Soup / Stew sign put up in restraunts – Its also called “health” or “strong man” soup.
